Toulouse have extended captain Rasmus Nicolaisen’s contract until 2029, the club said in a statement.
The 29-year-old Danish centre-back, one of the squad’s longest-serving players, had been under contract until 2027.
Nicolaisen arrived from Midtjylland in summer 2021 and established himself at the heart of the defence. He has made 161 appearances and was handed the armband by Carles Martinez Novell in summer 2024.
The club, recently ninth in Ligue 1, described him as embodying the group’s combative, collective and demanding values, and said the renewal fits their plan to keep progressing with strong leaders who can guide academy youngsters.
Nicolaisen said the affection shown to his family over the past five years made the decision straightforward, adding that Toulouse feels like home and that his children now speak French better than he does.
