The EFL season has finished and the Premier League is nearing its conclusion, and transfer talk around Wolves, West Brom and Aston Villa is gathering pace.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, Raul Jimenez’s post-Fulham remarks have sent shockwaves through the Wolves fanbase, with the forward opening the door to a surprise return next season. He is out of contract at Fulham this summer.

Rob Edwards offered a defiant answer on Sunday when asked about teenager Mateus Mane’s future, with speculation expected to follow across the window.

West Brom are keen on Falkirk striker Barney Stewart. The 22-year-old hit 10 goals after the turn of the year and is viewed as one of the hottest young properties in Scottish football, with a reported seven-figure bid rejected.

Falkirk manager John McGlynn said offers would be considered if the price is right, that two or three clubs have made fair bids, it is early and there is no rush, more offers are likely, and any acceptance will be for the board to decide.

Stewart has also addressed the links himself, calling a Championship move “insane” amid interest from Albion and others.

Villa, meanwhile, are among several Premier League sides linked with Real Sociedad attacker Ander Barrenetxea. The 24-year-old, who can play centrally or wide, has scored four goals this season, and it has been claimed he has a £66m release clause that Villa are prepared to pay.
