The Premier League champions are also exploring a deal for Christos Tzolis, but suggestions of a swap deal involving Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez and Viktor Gyokeres are thought to be wide of the mark. Chelsea, meanwhile, are planning to reinvest the money from the Marc Cucurella sale to Real Madrid back into the squad and Lewis Hall has been mentioned as a potential replacement, though the Blues may face competition from Man United to re-sign the defender.

Ederson is on his way to Old Trafford with Man Utd also credited with interest in a double swoop for West Ham duo Crysencio Summerville and Mateus Fernandes. Elsewhere, Tottenham have agreed a deal with Brighton for Jan Paul van Hecke but will have to pay at least £100m to sign Sandro Tonali. Liverpool are considering a move for Rayan as an alternative to Yan Diomande. Follow the latest transfer news, gossip and rumours live below!

DONE DEAL: Ruben Amorim lands new job

It is official, Ruben Amorim is the AC Milan head coach.

The Portuguese tactician has been out of work since leaving Manchester United in January, but is back in management and is tasked with awaking a fallen giant.

A statement reads: AC Milan appoints Ruben Amorim as head coach of the men's first team.

"Amorim began his coaching career in 2018, following a professional playing career in which he represented Belenenses and Benfica, as well as the Portugal national team.

"After early coaching experiences at Casa Pia and Braga, he was appointed Head Coach of Sporting Clube de Portugal in March 2020, marking the start of a cycle defined by a strong playing identity, innovation, and player development. This period translated into tangible success, including two Portuguese league titles, two League Cups, and one Super Cup. He most recently served as Head Coach of Manchester United before joining AC Milan.

"Throughout his career, Amorim has developed a modern dominant tactical approach with clear player profiles and strong organisational design that develops young players and maximises their potential."

Sandro Tonali is set to be in the middle of a three-way battle for his signature this summer.

It was revealed on Monday evening hat Tottenham had entered the race for the Newcastle midfielder, but face competition from Arsenal and Manchester City.

According to Ben Jacobs, Spurs are a serious contender despite not having European football to offer and that Roberto De Zerbi is the driving force behind the move.

Furthermore, it's being reported that a bid of around £85million plus add-ons taking the package to around £100million is expected to be considered by Newcastle.

Yan Diomande is said to be the club's top target but if a deal can't be reached with RB Leipzig, then alternatives will be considered.

Man Utd target Alvaro Carreras

Manchester United are plotting a move to re-sign Alvaro Carreras from Real Madrid.

Carreras joined Man Utd from Los Blancs in September 2020, but left four years later having failed to make a single senior appearance.

After impressing at Benfica, Carreras returned to Real Madrid last summer and was the first-choice left-back under both Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa this season.

Nunez back to Liverpool

Darwin Nunez was one of several players to leave Liverpool last summer, helping the club raise a significant sum in player sales.
