Transfer saga surrounding Bundesliga star: Bayern Munich is also in the mix | OneFootball

FC Bayern continues to scout the transfer market for young players with great potential for development. Finn Jeltsch of VfB Stuttgart appears to be back in the spotlight. The 20-year-old center back is one of the most exciting defensive prospects in Germany—and has long attracted international interest.

As reported by the website Transferfeed, the German record champions are still keeping an eye on Jeltsch. However, the Munich club is by no means the only interested party. Juventus Turin, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Liverpool are also said to have the youngster on their radar.

According to the report, there are currently no concrete negotiations with Stuttgart. Nevertheless, a high-profile transfer battle over the former Nuremberg player could unfold by next summer at the latest.

Jeltsch has made a name for himself shortly after his move to VfB. Despite his young age, he already has Bundesliga experience and still possesses considerable potential for growth.

Stuttgart holds the upper hand

However, Jeltsch would not be a bargain for Bayern. The center back is under contract with VfB through 2030. Accordingly, there is currently no reason for the Swabians to sell their young player below market value.

A transfer as early as this winter is therefore considered extremely unlikely. According to TuttoJuve, Stuttgart is not currently planning to sell him and would likely only reconsider its stance if an exceptionally lucrative offer were made.

The situation could become more interesting next summer. By then, VfB would apparently be more willing to consider offers for Jeltsch—provided the financial terms are right.

As early as this spring, the defender’s market value was estimated at around 35 million euros. Since then, potential transfer fees of about 50 million euros have been mentioned. Whether Stuttgart would actually demand such a sum, however, is likely to depend on Jeltsch’s future development and the specific level of demand.

Bayern Must Hold Its Own Against Premier League Clubs

From FC Bayern’s perspective, signing him would certainly fit into their long-term roster planning. With Jonathan Tah, Dayot Upamecano, and Minjae Kim, the Munich-based club currently has three experienced center backs. Looking ahead, however, rejuvenating the defensive core could become an issue.

Jeltsch would be an interesting candidate for this. He is familiar with the Bundesliga, still has enormous potential for development, and could initially compete with the established center backs.

A potential transfer to Bayern would by no means be a sure thing, however. Competition from the Premier League, in particular, could make the deal complicated and expensive. Three English heavyweights—Manchester United, Arsenal, and Liverpool—are reportedly keeping tabs on the 20-year-old’s development. Juventus has also expressed interest.

The race is apparently still in its early stages. Neither FC Bayern nor any other interested club is reportedly conducting concrete negotiations with Stuttgart at this point.

However, should Stuttgart actually signal a willingness to talk this summer, things could quickly get serious. Then Bayern would not only have to put a hefty transfer fee on the table but also prevail against some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
