Although nominally Rennes’ number one goalkeeper, Turkish youth international Doğan Alemdar will have seen his playing time in Ligue 1 cut in half this past season, as veteran Steve Mandanda quickly commanded a starting spot in the wake of his arrival from Marseille.
According to L’Équipe this afternoon, Alemdar is set to sign for recently-relegated Ligue 2 side Troyes on a loan deal which will not include a permanent option. The 20-year-old will be looking to improve on his six league appearances last year, in a deal which will reportedly see Rennes take on a large chunk of his salary over the course of the upcoming campaign.
The outlet adds that Gauthier Gallon will go the opposite way, with the Troyes shot-stopper set to join the Bretons on a three-year deal, The 30-year-old is expected to rival Mandanda for a starting spot, having played in the majority of the Aube side’s matches last year.
