Tuchel reveals Bellingham selection stance ahead of Czechia clash | OneFootball

England manager Thomas Tuchel is unsure whether Jude Bellingham will start their Nations League clash with Czechia at the Fortuna Arena on Tuesday.

Bellingham was one of England’s best players in the 3-2 defeat to Spain at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

The Real Madrid midfielder set up Anthony Gordon’s goal. Bellingham also won a penalty after being fouled by Rodri, but Harry Kane missed from the spot.

Tuchel wants Bellingham to feature against Czechia following the defeat to Spain, but he is concerned about his fitness.

“I would love to have him four times on the pitch,” Tuchel told The Telegraph. “I think the concern is that he hasn’t done it this season in this tight period.”

“We will need to check with the physios. We will not put Jude at any risk, but his style is how he plays.

“It’s better if he plays with a bit of rage. He gets better if that happens. It’s what he does. I think sometimes he is looking for these moments to get his fire going.”

The Birmingham City academy graduate missed several games last season due to injuries, increasing the need to manage his workload.

Tuchel could select Morgan Gibbs-White or Morgan Rogers if Bellingham is not fit enough to start against Czechia.

Madrid will hope the England international returns fully fit after the international break, following injuries to Ibrahima Konate and Kylian Mbappe.

Bellingham has been one of their best players this season. They cannot afford to lose him to injury as they look to catch La Liga leaders Barcelona.
