Two OGC Nice supporters accused of criminal association and group violence against their own players were acquitted by the Nice criminal court on Friday.
At a 29 July hearing, prosecutors sought one to two years in prison. According to Le Progres, judges relied on police testimony saying no violence was seen and the pair tried to calm tensions.
On 30 November 2025, after a 3-1 loss at Lorient, more than 200 supporters blocked the team bus outside the club’s training centre.
Anthony D., 32, and Mohamed C., 42, were allowed onto the bus, where they spoke to players in vehement, vulgar terms while saying fans only wanted to talk.
Club executives then let the players walk the few metres to the gates, through dozens of hostile supporters, many of them masked.
Some players passed without issue, others faced spitting, insults and a violent shove, notably strikers Terem Moffi and Jérémie Boga, who filed complaints the next day. At the hearing, prosecutor Damien Martinelli called it an ambush that, he argued, would not have happened without the pair persuading players to disembark.
The defence said the case served as a reminder to aggressive fans to keep faces covered. After the acquittal the two men left court in tears with emotional relatives.
Psychologically affected, Boga and Moffi soon lost interest in the case and did not play again for Nice. In January 2026, Boga signed for Juventus Turin, and Moffi was loaned to Porto then transferred to Hamburg.
