Dutch manager Arne Slot has spoken out about his future at Liverpool, as doubts begin to surface about his position following a string of disappointing results, despite the board's continued public support. On Wednesday night, the Reds suffered a heavy defeat at Anfield, falling 4-1 to Eindhoven on matchday five of the UEFA Champions League group stage.
Speaking to the BBC, Slot said: "I want to stay positive about the players' reaction after conceding a goal. Until the end of the first half, we played a good match."On finding solutions, he added: "The only way to qualify now is... to qualify. We have to face our current situation and fight with everything we have."Slot continued: "I try to analyze the players' performances as much as possible, and it's clear I’m not doing it the way I did last season. Individual mistakes are also the result of a collective effort. I need to raise my level, and that's what I strive to do every day."When asked about the pressure or concern regarding his future at Liverpool, Slot insisted: "No, I'm not worried. My focus is on improving my work, not on my position."
