HLN have revealed that Union St Gilloise will now be looking for a new head coach. Sébastien Pocognoli is set to depart the club to join Monaco, where head coach Adi Hütter is set to depart. Hütter had been in charge of training yesterday but according to the Belgian paper, Union expect that Pocognoli will be the new man to take over at the Ligue 1 side.

Despite only spending just over a year at the club in the head coach’s role, Pocognoli will go down as a legend of the club for bringing the side their first Belgian Pro League title since the 1930s. As a result, Pocognoli has guided Union to their first ever Champions League campaign, with the side beating Dutch champions PSV in their opening game of the tournament.

Pocognoli now takes over at Monaco side that are also in the same tournament, although they were hammered by Club Brugge in their opening game of the tournament. Monaco did then recover to draw 2-2 with Manchester City, but this does not appear to have been enough to save Hütter. Monaco are currently fifth in Ligue 1.
