‘Unsatisfactory’ refereeing in FC Porto v Moreirense

The Arbitration Council of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) gave a negative assessment to the refereeing and VAR in the match between FC Porto and Moreirense, corresponding to the 27th round of the league. The blue and whites won 3-0, with goals from Gabri Veiga, Pietuszewski and William Gomes.

In terms of refereeing, the match was marked by an incident involving Zaidu in the 58th minute, in which FC Porto’s opponents called for the Porto player to be sent off. Curiously, in Benfica vs FC Porto, a very similar challenge by Prestianni on Martim Fernandes did not receive any negative note from the Arbitration Council, as João Pinheiro was given a “very satisfactory” rating and the VAR was assessed as “satisfactory”.
