Weverton set the tone in the first minute with a sharp, top-corner save and then marshalled his box superbly as Grêmio drew 0-0 at Athletico Paranaense.
Early on, he tipped a swerving long-range effort headed high. He then pushed out Kevin Viveros' low strike from the right side of the box (27.). Before the interval, he got down smartly to deny Bruninho from distance (36.).
After the restart, the 38-year-old stayed calm under pressure, claiming crosses and setting the platform with tidy distribution. His biggest late intervention arrived when he blocked Carlos Terán from close range (85.), preserving Imortal's clean sheet.
He finished with four saves, including two from inside the box, plus a high claim—numbers that underlined how he kept Athletico-PR at arm's length. With Furacão forcing seven corners, his positioning and handling blunted their aerial route and stifled second balls.
Tricolor Gaúcho visit Riestra in the CONMEBOL Sudamericana next. Furacão travel to Vasco da Gama in the league.
