The United States Soccer Federation has revealed the nominees for Male and Female Player of the Year for 2025, highlighting the standout American performers for the respective national teams.

Fan vote will account for 15 percent of the overall vote tally, while the remainder will come from U.S. Men's and Women's National Team players that earned a cap in 2025, professional league coaches, media, U.S. Soccer Board of Directors and the Athletes’ Council.

All Player of the Year finalists were selected based on performance in 2025, with emphasis placed on play with their respective National Team.

U.S. Men’s National Team goalkeeper Matt Freese, defenders Max Arfsten, Alex Freeman and Chris Richards, and midfielder Malik Tillman have been nominated for Male Player of the Year. 

Meanwhile, defender Emily Fox, midfielders Sam Coffey and Rose Lavelle, forward Alyssa Thompson and Catarina Macario have been nominated for Female Player of the Year. 

Voting is now open through U.S. Soccer and concludes on Friday, December 12, with the the winners set to be announced in January 2025.
