USMNT’s Ricardo Pepi is set to stay at PSV this month despite significant Fulham interest. The London club are expected to revisit the move in the summer.

According to The Athletic, Fulham had been in pole position to sign the 23-year-old, submitting a second bid worth $38 million (€32m, £28m) in January, but a gap in valuation persisted.

A deal looked close late in the window, yet hopes faded ahead of Monday's 7pm deadline.

Pepi broke his arm while scoring PSV's second goal in a 5-1 win over Excelsior on 10 January, and is expected to be out for around two months.

He has 11 goals in 22 appearances in all competitions this season.

The striker joined PSV in summer 2023 after FC Dallas, Augsburg and Groningen spells.

He has 34 senior caps for the United States since 2021, scoring 13 goals, and missed the 2022 World Cup squad.

Fulham are eighth in the Premier League and return to action against Everton on Saturday.
