Valencia close in on Renzo Saravia after Foulquier deregistration

Valencia are moving closer to signing Argentine right-back Renzo Saravia as a free agent after several days of talks, aiming to address a shortage on the right of defence.

Tribuna Deportiva reported at midday that an agreement was edging towards completion after the latest contacts and, in principle, would run until the end of the season.

On Wednesday, the Mestalla club deregistered Dimitri Foulquier, who has undergone knee surgery and is set to miss the remainder of the campaign, creating room in the squad to add a free agent.

That move has opened a place to sign cover for the position with a free agent.

Saravia has been the club’s preferred option from the outset of the process.
