Valencia confirm Justin De Haas ankle sprain, defender could miss around one month | OneFootball

Valencia said in a statement that Justin De Haas suffered a sprain of the lateral complex in his right ankle during Saturday's league match against Celta Vigo at Mestalla. If confirmed, the 26-year-old could be sidelined for around one month.

The Dutch centre-back limped off and did not feature after half-time in the league opener. Ahead of facing Real Betis, Corberán indicated it looked more than a simple sprain and said the extent was still unknown.

He will now undergo medical treatment, rehabilitation and reconditioning, and will return to team training once there is sufficient clinical improvement.

Should the estimated lay-off hold, he would miss the next six fixtures, against Real Betis, Deportivo de La Coruña, FC Barcelona, Sevilla FC, Deportivo Alavés and Real Sociedad.

In that scenario, his comeback would be targeted for after the international break, when Valencia visit Racing de Santander at El Sardinero.
