Valencia CF have reached an agreement to add Kenyan international Amos Wanjala, 19, to VCF Mestalla from Athletic Club Torrellano.

According to Superdeporte, the move follows a push to strengthen the defence after Andrés Caro’s serious injury. The first recruit was Pedro Gomes, yet to be officially announced, followed by Wanjala.

The centre-back steps up one tier in Spanish football and will look to prove his worth in a Valencia shirt.

He arrives with Tercera Federación experience and has represented the Selección Valenciana at the UEFA Regions' Cup.

Wanjala is a full Kenya international and captained his country’s under-20s at the most recent Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
