Valencia have signed 18-year-old striker Rubén Fernández from Deportivo, with the forward to begin under Angulo at Valencia Mestalla.
The Galician club said in a statement that an agreement was reached on Wednesday for his transfer.
Fernández, a product of the A Coruña academy, has been sidelined since near the start of the season for non-sporting reasons thought to be exclusively contract-related. His deal ran to 30 June 2026 with an optional year, and he had not accepted renewal offers.
He played only 50 minutes across the first three games for the reserves in Segunda RFEF, but scored a decisive goal to beat Salamanca.
The teenager raced through the ranks, often among the youngest in his teams, and routinely scored more goals than matches at cadete and juvenil levels. He made his Segunda RFEF debut at 17, and this season was set for a definitive step up before being cut after refusing to renew.
Several clubs had tracked him closely, but Valencia won the race. They have a goalscorer for the long term.
