Valencia striker Ruben Sobrino says their friendly defeat to Brentford was a good hit-out.

Sobrino was happy to take part in the 2-1 loss.

He said, "It's been useful for the new coaching staff to see a lot of things, and to improve some things that we've been focusing on. Today was another test to see what we do well. There were some things that we did badly in the game that have been working in training, but sometimes that's football. Matches are very different to training sessions. We're going to try to keep improving for the start of LaLiga, which is the most important thing.

"I think that the coaching staff have been emphasising since day one that we go full on. If you don't compete, and you aren't prepared, then any team can do you damage from all sides."
