Vasco have formally adopted Crias da Colina as the label for academy graduates, replacing Base Forte in a change announced on Friday, 20 March.

According to Globo.com, the move is part of a wider plan to strengthen the brand, open new revenue and align communications with women’s football and fans.

In judicial recovery, the club sees commercial potential in the mark. It plans official physical and digital products and to use alumni such as Andrey Santos and Rayan. Vasco TV content is being built around the identity.

Brand work tracked the restart of the women’s pathway, with under-17 and under-20 sides reactivated last year and an under-15 planned. The club judged it the moment to unify messaging without gender distinction and to spotlight the women’s game before the next World Cup in Brazil.

Base Forte was seen to have lost distinctiveness. Meninos da Colina was rejected as gender-limited, so Crias da Colina, rooted in Barreira do Vasco and Rio culture, was chosen. Fan usage around Rayan’s farewell and Alex Teixeira’s return helped cement it.

The seal will help reconnect alumni playing elsewhere, with milestone gestures such as sending official kits for birthdays, births of children or professional achievements. This could ease future returns, though there are no talks now and new signings are unlikely before 27 March, when the domestic window closes. The mark will appear across visuals and line-ups and should be visible around the next match against Grêmio in the Brasileiro.
