Vasco announce signing of midfielder Lescano from Argentinos Juniors | OneFootball

The club announced on Wednesday the signing of Argentine midfielder Alan Lescano from Argentinos Juniors on a four-year deal. The 24-year-old arrived in Rio de Janeiro last Friday, underwent medical tests and completed the move.

The fee is around US$ seven million, about R$ 36 million. Nicknamed Pipa in Argentina, he had topped Vasco’s scouting list and becomes their fifth addition for the second half of the year.

Vasco view him as a likely starter with significant potential. He can operate as a 10 close to the forwards or as a more withdrawn eight with attacking traits, a profile the squad lacks.

Previously, they added full-back Paulinho, midfielder Sosa and forwards Colidio and Bruno Duarte. The club have also moved towards an agreement with defender Gabriel Pereira and dream of adding forward Richarlison.

Lescano began his senior career at Gimnasia in 2022, then joined Argentinos Juniors the following season, where he impressed. He made 123 appearances, scoring 27 goals with nine assists.

On Tuesday he posted a farewell to Argentinos Juniors on social media, thanking the club for its faith and reflecting on formative highs and lows during his time there.
