Vasco secured a place in the Copa Sudamericana quarter-finals with a 4-1 win over Olimpia at Defensores del Chaco on Thursday, adding R$ 3.1 million to club coffers and taking this season’s prize money to R$ 9.2 million.

According to Globo.com, the club had already banked US$ 500,000, about R$ 2.6 million, for advancing from the last-16 play-offs.

It also received US$ 300,000, R$ 1.5 million, for qualifying from the group stage, plus US$ 375,000, R$ 1.9 million, for three group wins.

Vasco will face the winner of River Plate v Santa Fe in the last eight.

The return leg of that tie is next Wednesday at the Monumental de Núñez in Argentina, after the first meeting in Colombia finished 0-0.
