Vasco have moved decisively towards signing Facundo Colidio from River Plate after providing the bank guarantees requested by the Argentine club. According to PaponaColina, the deal is structured at US$ 5 million for 50% of the rights, with a further US$ 5 million tied to targets for the remaining half, and a four-year contract.
The forward’s own push proved crucial, with Colidio pressing internally at River Plate to accept the offer and make the switch to Brazilian football. Vasco’s staff are awaiting final paperwork to arrange his trip to Rio de Janeiro and complete formalities.
His arrival answers a direct request from head coach Pedro Emanuel for a player comfortable wide and centrally. The club are expediting registration with the CBF to make him available as soon as possible.
With finances aligned, an announcement is planned once medicals are completed. The addition underlines the board’s investment in the international market and bolsters options for the Campeonato Brasileiro and upcoming knockout competitions.
Colidio, 26, came through Boca Juniors before an early move to Inter Milan. He had loans at Sint-Truiden and Tigre, shining with five goals and eight assists in Tigre’s 2022 Copa de la Liga Argentina runner-up campaign.
He joined River Plate in 2023, winning the Supercopa Argentina and the Trofeo de Campeones. Colidio scored 18 goals there, featuring both as a winger and as a false nine.
