Vasco have mapped out how to deploy the proceeds from Rayan’s move to Bournemouth, prioritising Cuiabano, debt repayment and attacking reinforcements.
According to ge, the package for Rayan totals €35 million, leaving about €24 million, R$ 149.8 million, for Vasco to allocate.
Nottingham Forest’s left-back Cuiabano is the clear priority for Admar Lopes and suits Fernando Diniz’s physical and attacking profile. Talks are complicated, with Forest preferring loans to Rio Ave or Olympiacos, clubs also owned by Evangelos Marinakis.
To break that preference, and with the player who would prioritise Botafogo in Brazil, Vasco are studying a permanent bid funded by the Rayan money. A purchase in full could convince the English club to send him to São Januário.
A significant slice will go to creditors under the Recuperação Judicial, bringing forward obligations. On the squad side, the arrivals of Brenner and Hinestroza, plus the purchase of Andrés Gómez, were already budgeted, with Brenner’s fee of five million euros staggered over almost three years.
Vasco also want another forward. Scouts are targeting pace and dribbling, with versatility to cover multiple roles, replacing the explosiveness lost with Rayan’s departure.
