Vasco seek loan for Cuiabano from English club | OneFootball

Vasco da Gama are seeking a loan for 22-year-old left-back Cuiabano from Nottingham Forest to bolster their defence. According to PaponaColina, the Brazilian impressed at Botafogo last season and has returned to England following his loan.

The move has gathered momentum because Botafogo are under a FIFA transfer ban, preventing new registrations. Cuiabano is understood to prefer a return to Botafogo, but the sanction blocks any deal.

Aware of that limitation, Vasco have expressed strong interest to the player’s representatives. They are trying to convince him that remaining in Rio at São Januário is the best step for his career right now.

Finding a left-back is seen as a priority for the squad. The hierarchy regard Cuiabano as offering both quality and physical power, attributes that fit the coaching staff’s plans.

His arrival would help cover for Leandrinho, who is in advanced talks with Al-Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, and provide competition for first-choice Lucas Piton, who continues to attract enquiries from clubs in Türkiye.
