The headline financials of Vasco da Gama’s new Nike partnership have emerged, led by a R$ 35 million annual guarantee. Atenção, Vascaínos! reports that performance triggers could lift this to R$ 42 million, potentially placing the club among Brazil’s biggest earners.
The base fee is secured regardless of commercial performance. The upside depends on hitting sales targets for official products, with the extra value driven by royalties.
Supporter demand is central to the uplift, as meeting those targets would unlock a R$ seven million bonus each season. The structure is designed to incentivise take-up of the new product range.
Clarity has also been offered on the term. Although initially billed as running to 2032, the legal framework is five plus two, a five-year firm deal with an automatic or negotiable two-year extension.
At the end of year five, the financial terms can be reviewed. If both parties are satisfied and sales are strong, a renegotiation could raise the figures further for the final two years, reflecting a performance-led model that ties revenues to fan engagement.
