‘Very good, very, very good’ – France manager Zinédine Zidane blown away by Liverpool defender Jérémy Jacquet | OneFootball

He is still only a rookie, but Jérémy Jacquet (21) already has all the makings of a star. Having already started against Belgium (0-1), the Frenchman was once again selected in the centre of Les Bleus’ defence this Friday for their home match against Italy (1-1), which counted towards the third matchday of the Nations League group stage.

And building on his performance against Les Diables Rouges, the Liverpool FC player continued to impress his manager Zinédine Zidane, who was full of praise for him after the match.

“He has been very good, very, very good, and valiant,” said Zidane. “He’s not afraid to come out a long way off his line, and he was very good in one-on-one situations. In short, he was once again very good. I’ve said it four times (laughs).”

Called up to the France squad for the first time during this September international break, the former Stade Rennais FC player – whose debut in the Premier League was nothing short of remarkable – seems to have already won Zidane’s trust.
