VfB Stuttgart and Hull agree €6.5m Josha Vagnoman sale, player still considering two Premier League rivals | OneFootball

VfB Stuttgart have reportedly reached a club-level agreement with Hull City over the permanent transfer of right-back Josha Vagnoman, representing a significant change of course from the Bundesliga side. Sky Germany’s Dennis Bayer reports Hull have agreed a deal worth approximately €6.5m for the 25-year-old, with Stuttgart also set to retain 50 percent of the player’s future transfer rights. Personal terms between Vagnoman and Hull have not yet been agreed, meaning the move remains incomplete.

The development nevertheless marks considerable progress after Stuttgart rejected Hull’s earlier approach this summer. Get German Football News reported in July that VfB had rebuffed the English club’s initial attempt to sign Vagnoman, with Stuttgart reluctant to weaken their right-back options at the time. Injuries to Lorenz Assignon and Nikolas Nartey had subsequently reinforced that stance, while reports indicated VfB would only consider a permanent transfer if an offer approached €10m.

The reasons behind Stuttgart’s decision to once again entertain offers for Vagnoman remains unclear at this point.

Vagnoman decision still outstanding

Hull have now satisfied Stuttgart sufficiently at club level, but the player himself has yet to approve the move. Further competition has also emerged. West Ham United and Nottingham Forest are reportedly attempting to enter the race before the transfer window closes, leaving Vagnoman with several possible destinations in England.

The Germany international featured in Stuttgart’s Bundesliga opener against Bayern Munich and endured a mixed afternoon. Vagnoman scored VfB’s only goal of the match but later registered an own goal as Stuttgart fell to a heavy defeat. His future could now be decided in the final hours of the window.

Should the Hull transfer proceed, Vagnoman would become only Stuttgart’s second permanent outgoing transfer of the summer to generate a fee. The reported €6.5m package would also place him among Hull’s more expensive additions during an ambitious window following promotion to the Premier League.
