Viktor Tsygankov has intensified his bid to leave Girona, sharing an internal club message on Instagram warning players about unauthorised media activity after already refusing to play.

Girona said in a statement this morning that it has opened a disciplinary procedure against the 28-year-old over his recent behaviour. Relegated to the Spanish second division at the end of last season, the Catalan club want to keep the former Dynamo Kiev winger, whose contract runs until next summer.

In his story, the Ukraine international posted a screenshot from the team’s WhatsApp group. It reminded him that any public communication, interviews or media interactions must be handled and authorised by the club press officer, with breaches liable to disciplinary action.

He then posted an image of a hand over a mouth, adding that one day he will speak. Tsygankov, capped 67 times by Ukraine, recorded seven goals and five assists for Girona last season.

His compatriot and teammate Vladyslav Vanat also shared a private exchange with the club on Instagram. Tsygankov is determined to depart and has been linked with Celta Vigo.
