Villa confirm Leon Bailey departure to Olympiacos | OneFootball

Leon Bailey has completed a move from Aston Villa to Greek side Olympiacos after five years at Villa Park.

The 29-year-old Jamaica international joins for €5 million, including bonuses, and has signed a three-year contract running until June 2029, with the club holding an option to extend it for another year.

Bailey arrived at Villa from Bayer Leverkusen in 2021 for around £25 million and went on to make 163 appearances, scoring 23 goals and providing 25 assists.

His time in England ended after he fell out of favour under Unai Emery. Bailey had been training separately from the first-team squad following a failed move to Hull City, with Villa keen to find him a new club before the window closed.

However, the Greek market remains open until 15 September, allowing Olympiacos to complete the deal after the Premier League deadline had passed.

Bailey now begins a new chapter in Greece, with Olympiacos reportedly making him one of the highest-paid players in the country.
