Villarreal fan Fina Marco hails season as ‘de puta mare’ but warns players to wake up | OneFootball

Veteran Villarreal season-ticket holder Fina Marco has gone viral after praising a contrasting campaign and urging the team to sharpen up.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, a street survey in Vila-real captured Marco, who describes herself as one of the Chicas de Oro, speaking plainly on camera and microphone.

In LaLiga, Marcelino’s side sit third on 54 points, level with Atlético de Madrid, and already 11 clear of fifth-placed Real Betis.

The cups have been bleak. In the Champions League, Villarreal collected one point from 24, a draw and seven defeats in eight games, and they exited the Copa del Rey in the last 32 to Segunda División side Racing de Santander.

Mixing Valencian with Spanish, Marco said the season is de puta mare and that supporters can be proud despite the Champions setback, while saying the players and Marcelino must wake up in the closing stages of matches.

She added that Villarreal will not drop from the top places and said she is sure they will be back in the Champions League.
