Vincent Kompany says Jonas Urbig is expected to be fit to face Atalanta on Wednesday, with 16-year-old Leonard Prescott on standby.

According to BuLi News, the Bayern Munich coach addressed the situation before the Champions League round of 16 second leg at the Allianz Arena. The first meeting ended 6-1 to Bayern, and they drew 1-1 with Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday.

Manuel Neuer is progressing after a muscle fibre tear, but Bayern will delay his return.

Kompany said he was pleased to see Neuer and Urbig back in training, and stressed the decision will be purely medical. If everything goes as expected, Urbig would start, otherwise they would find another solution.

With Sven Ulreich and Leon Klanac also sidelined, Kompany confirmed Prescott would debut if Urbig is not cleared to start. He described the teenager as calm and said the staff are composed too. He added they would not hand a youngster a leading role and that the squad would support him fully.
