Vinicius Souza, known as Vinição, could change clubs in Europe after interest from elsewhere, a scenario that may hand Flamengo a cut of any fee.
According to OneFootball, Köln are among the clubs keen on the 27-year-old midfielder, though Wolfsburg do not wish to sell despite relegation from the Bundesliga.
As a training club, Flamengo are entitled to 3.05% of any transfer involving Vinição. In mid 2025, they received 525,000 euros, worth R$ 3.3 million at the time, after the German side paid R$ 96 million to Sheffield United to sign him.
His first year at Wolfsburg was modest. Across 2025/26 he made 27 appearances, starting 25, and recorded no goals or assists as the team dropped to the second tier.
Developed at Flamengo, he moved to the City Football Group, playing in Belgium for Lommel SK and Mechelen, then joined Espanyol before spells with Sheffield United and now Wolfsburg.
At Flamengo he was regarded as a favourite of Jorge Jesus in 2019 and 2020 but featured only eight times for the first team. He impressed in the academy, winning the Copa São Paulo and the Brazilian under-20 championship.
