Playing against all odds, FC Barcelona once again put in a very strong performance as they took to the Spotify Camp Nou last night to face Atletico Madrid in the second leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final. The Blaugranes came into this match with a 4-0 deficit on aggregate, and were able to finish the game with a 3-0.

Thus, although they came near to forcing the game into extra time, they were eliminated from the competition. However, the Catalan team left no doubts about its commitment, and Hansi Flick also expressed his pride in the team despite the loss.

Meanwhile, as Mundo Deportivo has reported, the Blaugrana vice-captain, Raphinha, also expressed his pride in the team as he spoke to the media after the game. In this regard, the Brazilian said:

“I leave very proud of this team. If we keep playing like this, we’ll have a spectacular end to the season.”

The winger also thanked the fans for their support:

“Honestly, I think it’s us who have to thank the fans — they were incredible. When we play at home, we need to feel the support. It’s very important for us. I think the fans are proud.”

Overall, Raphinha was quite satisfied with this game:

“We gave everything we had. Atletico did very well. We did everything possible, but we were just missing a little something. We’re disappointed not to reach the final, but we take more positives than negatives. The intensity we showed from the start, the desire to come back… Atletico finished the job in the first leg, and we have to recognize their merit.”

For now, the Brazilian was looking forward to other competitions:

“Now it’s time to lift our heads. Tomorrow is another day. We have to leave proud of what we did. Now we think about the weekend. Time to go for La Liga and the Champions League, which is what lies ahead.”

Hopefully, Barcelona would continue with the recent good form, and as Raphinha commented, work to win the two big trophies left for them to compete for.
