Brazilian has been linked with a move to Bayer Leverkusen
Erik ten Hag has left the door open for a reunion with Manchester United winger Antony.
The Dutchman, now at Bayer Leverkusen following his departure from Old Trafford last October, was in charge of the Red Devils when the Brazilian winger arrived from Ajax in the summer of 2022.
Furthermore, ten Hag first brought Antony to Europe a couple of years prior, bringing him from Sao Paulo to Amsterdam.
However, Antony has endured a largely disappointing spell since his £85m transfer and was loaned out to Real Betis for the second half of last season.
In Spain, Antony did enjoy somewhat of a career renaissance. He netted nine goals and weighed in with five assists in 26 appearances across all competitions, helping Betis qualify for the Europa League in the process.
The winger also played a key role in the LaLiga outfit reaching the Conference League final where they were convincingly beaten 4-1 by Chelsea.
There had been talk of Antony joining Betis on a permanent transfer this summer, but the 25-year-old has already confirmed his time at the club has come to an end via a post on social media.
As a result, suggestions of a move to Leverkusen have ramped up especially with Antony being exiled from the Man Utd senior squad ahead of the new season.
Although whilst ten Hag maintains a great relationship with his “son”, a reunion at this point in time is unlikely but that could change in the future.
Ten Hag said: “He has great quality. I signed him twice. He was like a son to me, he still is a son to me.
“We're not interested in him at the moment, but we'll see what happens in the future.”
