Weslley Patati has completed six months at AZ Alkmaar and says he is settling into Dutch football. According to Diario Do Peixe, the former Santos forward is consolidating his place in Europe and is among the team's standouts. He has two goals and three assists in 28 appearances.
He described a warm welcome, growing chemistry with team-mates and the thrill of playing Eredivisie football. Patati said he wants to keep improving, help AZ reach its objectives and leave his mark.
Before moving to the Netherlands, he recorded 14 goals and nine assists in 40 games for Maccabi Tel Aviv. He won the Israeli league and the Israel Cup that season.
Fans there dubbed him Mago Brasileiro, and he wore the No 10 the following campaign.
That rise opened the door to AZ, where early on he earned a starting place and the crowd's backing. Notable moments include scoring against Ajax and featuring in the 6-0 that marked AZ's biggest win over their traditional rivals.
For Santos' senior side, he played 33 times, scoring two goals with one assist. He also lifted the 2022 Paulista Under-20 title and received Brazil youth call-ups.
