Santos ranked 11th for fanbase in Brazil in new poll | OneFootball

Santos rank 11th for fanbase size in Brazil with 2%, according to Datafolha. The poll places the club behind rivals and even the Seleção Brasileira.

The survey was conducted on 22-23 July with 2,004 people aged over 16 in 139 cities. The margin of error is two points, with 95% confidence.

Flamengo lead on 22%, ahead of Corinthians on 14% and Palmeiras on 7%. They are followed by São Paulo on 6%, Cruzeiro on 4%, then Vasco and Grêmio on 3%. Seleção Brasileira, Atlético-MG and Internacional, all on 2%, also rank ahead of Santos.

Overall, 22% of respondents said they do not support any club. That rose to 29% among women and was 13% among men.

Santos list 51,209 registered members on the club website as of Saturday. Membership peaked at 74,000 when Neymar Jr returned last year, but numbers slipped during a relegation fight in the Brasileirão. The club’s last major trophy was the 2016 Paulistão, a decade-long wait.
