Albion have signed right-back Brayann Pereira from NEC Nijmegen for around £1 million on a four-year contract. The 23-year-old is expected to be their final addition of the window.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, boss James Morrison would like to bring in a striker before the 11pm cut-off, though any deal is now viewed as remote.
Pereira started at Lens and also featured for Auxerre, and is a former France youth international. He has made 58 appearances in the Dutch top flight since joining NEC two years ago.
He will offer cover and competition for fellow summer arrival Nolan Galves.
Morrison kept his cards close on other targets on Tuesday morning, with a striker thought to be the current priority. He said his focus remains on preparing the team for Wednesday’s Championship visit of Charlton.
The boss said they remain hopeful of further progress, having worked hard through the summer and intending to continue. He added that he is happy with the club’s direction and the business done, while accepting they must operate differently to bigger rivals in the division.
