The Baggies appear far from done with their summer spending, with the club still having a few million pounds to play with.

West Bromwich Albion have been claimed to hold between £3m-£6m to use on further transfer activity this summer, and have been linked with moves for Issa Kabore and Bertrand Traore.

This has been reported by football finance expert and Professor Rob Wilson in the I newspaper, as Albion expect further additions in to bolster the squad.

And with three weeks remaining until the window slams shut, multiple players could still enter the building, with the club looking to spend their money shrewdly in an attempt to be looking up the Championship table this coming season, rather than over their shoulders as they did last term.

The Black Country outfit have already been busy so far this summer by bringing in seven new players, with 20-year-old French midfielder Rabby Nzingoula the latest arrival from Ligue 1 outfit Strasbourg, a player who was exclusively revealed to be of interest to the Baggies here at FLW.

Other signings have included defenders Nolan Galves and Carter Pinnington, midfielder Felix Horn Myhre, and forwards Barney Stewart and Jimmy-Jay Morgan, with all more than playing their parts over pre-season and in their romping Carabao Cup first round victory over Rotherham United last week.

As per a claim by football finance expert Rob Wilson in the I newspaper, West Brom are believed to still have between £3m-£6m to spend before the 1st September deadline.

The figure listed does depend heavily on wages, deal structures and any further sales, but Wilson believes there is scope for the Black Country outfit to beef up the squad even further heading into the new second tier season.

Speaking about Albion’s financial situation, Wilson said: “They remain a Championship club that needs to be disciplined, but the financial picture is considerably more stable.

“There should be room for further recruitment, albeit probably in the low single-digit millions rather than a major spending spree.”

The article also dives into some of West Brom’s transfer targets, with Issa Kabore and Bertrand Traore linked with moves to The Hawthorns.

Kabore returned to Manchester City this summer following a loan spell last season at Championship rivals Wrexham, and is a player who could fit into James Morrison’s system with aplomb due to the way he likes his full-backs to get into advanced areas and hurt teams in the final third.

Meanwhile, Traore is on the free agent list after departing Sunderland and has been mooted as an option, with the Baggies seemingly keen on utilising that market where they can too.

Albion are light out wide at the moment following the exits of Karlan Grant and Jed Wallace to Charlton Athletic and Bristol City respectively, so a move for the experienced former Aston Villa winger could be something that suits all parties heading into the new campaign.

The piece suggests that a move for Traore would be more attainable than swoops for the likes of Raheem Sterling or Wilfried Zaha, who too are out of contract, while Albion continue to be touted with a move for Ipswich Town goalkeeper Alex Palmer, but face competition from Premier League opposition in Sunderland.

Despite bringing seven new players into the building already, it appears West Brom are showing no signs of slowing down, and while the money they can spend for the rest of the transfer window is limited, they will be aiming to be smart with their cash to bring further gems into the squad.

Issa Kabore is certainly a player who Albion fans would be excited to see represent the blue and white stripes, with his willingness to drive forward and contribute in attacking areas something Morrison wants to see from his full-backs, with Danny Imray and now Nolan Galves examples of the Albion chief’s instructions.

Bertrand Traore could be someone who divides opinion in the Albion fanbase given the stage of the career he’s at and his past connections to Villa Park, with the club certainly taking a gamble on him as he’s struggled for his fitness in the past.

Regardless, Albion are continuing to ramp up their business as the clock ticks down on the summer transfer window, with the Baggies aiming to be a force to be reckoned with heading into the 2026-27 season.
