West Ham United and Leeds United are reportedly competing to sign OGC Nice’s Melvin Bard (25), according to information from Foot Mercato. The French full-back is also said to be of interest to newly promoted Premier League side Coventry City.

Whilst Eintracht Frankfurt’s Niels Nkounkou (25) is edging closer to a move to the Côte d’Azur, Bard, for his part, is reportedly on the verge of leaving. Under contract with Les Aiglons until 2028, the Écully-born player is valued at around €10m by the club’s management.

Having come through the Olympique Lyonnais academy, it was with the Rhône-based club that Bard began his professional career. After moving to Nice in the summer of 2021, the left-footed player quickly established himself as a key member of the Rouge et Noir squad.

Having now made nearly 200 appearances for the Nice club, the former French Under-23 international has scored seven goals and provided six assists.
