West Ham come from behind to earn point in fiery Dockers Derby | OneFootball

West Ham fought back from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw against Millwall in a fiery Dockers Derby at The Den.

Millwall dominated the opening half and deservedly built a commanding lead. Caleb Taylor opened the scoring in the 15th minute, reacting quickest after Mark Sykes and Taïryk Arconte had efforts saved following a dangerous long throw.

The Lions continued to threaten and went close through Sykes, who struck the bar from distance, before Camiel Neghli doubled their advantage on the stroke of half-time. Another long throw caused problems and Neghli made no mistake from close range.

Nuno Espírito Santo responded with two changes at the break and West Ham emerged with renewed purpose. Mohamadou Kante forced a save early on before eventually pulling one back in the 74th minute, drilling a low effort through a crowded penalty area.

The visitors kept pressing and levelled six minutes later when Konstantinos Mavropanos rose at the far post to head home Manor Solomon’s delivery.

West Ham looked capable of completing the turnaround, but Kante was shown a late red card for bringing down Kyrell Lisbie as the substitute raced through on goal.

Millwall pushed for a winner, but Lyndon Dykes fired over in stoppage time as the points were shared.
