West Ham United fight back to go top after comeback at Millwall | OneFootball

Millwall 2-2 West Ham United at The Den on Saturday, a result that lifts the visitors to the top of the Championship.

Caleb Taylor opened the scoring in the 16th minute, turning in from close range after a second phase delivery. Camiel Neghli doubled the lead in the third minute of first half stoppage time, finishing from Lyndon Dykes' pass at the back post.

Mads Hermansen kept the visitors in the game with sharp early stops. Filip Marshall was alert after the restart, denying Jarrod Bowen and Mohamadou Kanté as pressure grew.

After half time changes, the Hammers hit back. Kanté drove in from outside the box after a pass from Pablo De Jesus (74.). Konstantinos Mavropanos then glanced in from a Manor Solomon corner (80.).

Kanté was sent off (89.).

A flurry of corners preceded Mavropanos' equaliser, with the Hammers pinning the Lions deep before the decisive delivery arrived.

The Lions registered 19 attempts, seven on target. The Hammers had 66.5% possession and won 11 corners.

The Hammers rise from second to first. The Lions drop from eighth to 10th. Next, the Lions visit Preston North End in the Championship, while the Hammers host Queens Park Rangers.
