West Ham United supporters are divided in their opinions regarding Mohamadou Kante's red card in the late stages of their 2-2 draw with Millwall
West Ham United fought back from 2-0 down at The Den on Saturday to claim a 2-2 draw in an enthralling encounter, as one player's flashpoint has got Hammers fans talking and dividing opinion.
West Ham faced bitter rivals Millwall for the first time in over 14 years on the weekend, and the wait for the next rendition of this historic fixture did not disappoint.
The game would ultimately end even, with both sides taking away a point, though one overriding flashpoint has divided Hammers supporters' opinion online.

West Ham travelling to The Den was always bound to be a feisty affair, though it was the Lions who raced out of the blocks, with Caleb Taylor scrambling the ball into the back of the net in the 16th minute after a long throw to give the Lions a 1-0 lead.
Camiel Neghli would score in similar circumstances just before half-time as Millwall took a two-goal advantage heading into the second 45.
However, a fatigued Millwall side could only withstand the Hammers' pressure for so long, as Mohamadou Kanté's rasping effort from outside the box put West Ham within a goal of drawing the game level in the 74th minute, before Konstantinos Mavropanos would nod home Manor Solomon's cross to tie the game in the 80th minute.
As West Ham pushed for a winner, Kanté made a mistake at the back to allow Kyrell Lisbie through on goal, as the French midfielder would make the decision to pull him down and take a red card.
His mistake in allowing Lisbie through very nearly cost his side the game, but his split-second decision to deny him a clear goal-scoring opportunity equally saved the Hammers, as this flashpoint has divided the fanbase.

Kanté, who joined West Ham from Paris FC for around £500k in 2024, has spent time on the fringes of the first team during the club's tenure in the Premier League, but following relegation, has become a crucial part of Nuno Espírito Santo's side.
The French midfielder has shown glimpses of his talent upon the Hammers' return to the Championship, though the 21-year-old's lack of first-team opportunities likely led to his moment of naivety in the latter stages of West Ham's clash at The Den, as supporters have taken to social media to react to the flashpoint.
This fan believes Kante's 'poor' decision making means he is to blame for the mistake - and it came at a time when West Ham were chasing all three points too.
Not everyone thought that way though...
Some believe it isn't the first mistake Kante has made - and it may not be the last as he develops as a player.
The red card went down better with some sections of the Hammers fanbase though.

Whilst Nuno almost certainly would have been hoping to take home all three points, he will be pleased with West Ham's determination and grit to fight back.
Of course, in the future, he would prefer not to go two goals down in the first place, but finding themselves in that predicament, they crawled their way back to claim a point, and Kanté's impact after his introduction at half-time played a huge role in their comeback.
The Frenchman will have in excess of a month off now with the international break and his subsequent suspension, and when he returns to action, Nuno will likely have few reservations about throwing him into the mix, despite his actions at Millwall.
