West Ham United player Taty Castellanos has been accused of spitting at Millwall goalkeeper Filip Marschall during Saturday’s derby at The Den.

The incident happened in the 65th minute of the game when Marschall kept hold of the ball longer than the allotted six seconds while the hosts were leading 2-0.

Castellanos came flying across in a bid to close the 23-year-old goalkeeper down.

Players from both teams were involved in a melee in no time.

Marschall then appeared to point towards his jersey, gesturing that he had been spat at by Castellanos.

Sky Sports reported that the fourth official confirmed an allegation of spitting had been lodged by Millwall staff.

The Lions dominated the first half of the derby and scored goals through Caleb Taylor and Camiel Neghli.

But West Ham produced a stunning comeback after the break to earn a share in the spoils.

Substitute Mohamadou Kante pulled one back with a low strike from 25 yards in the 74th minute.

Then Konstantinos Mavropanos headed home the equaliser six minutes later.

Kante received a red card for pulling down Millwall’s Kyrell Lisbie, but the Hammers held on to secure a draw.

West Ham have made a positive start to the Championship season, as they aim for an immediate return to the Premier League.

The Irons have picked up 15 points from eight matches and are currently at the top of the league table. Although teams below them will likely overtake them after their matches this weekend.
