West Ham United are eyeing a possible deal for former Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, according to Sky Sports.
West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo wants to bring a striker to the London Stadium before the end of the summer transfer window.
Vardy, who is a free agent after his contract at Cremonese ended, is an option for the Hammers. However, nothing has progressed yet and talks are not currently taking place.
It will be intriguing to see if anything develops, but Vardy could have something to offer as West Ham eye an immediate return to the Premier League.
The 39-year-old made 29 appearances in Serie A last term, starting 24 times and weighing in with seven goals and two assists.
He brings much-needed experience to the table and is not looking to retire just yet.
Vardy has Championship experience with Leicester, notching 18 goals and two assists in 35 appearances in the division in 2023-24.
He started 18 of those games before starting 35 Premier League games the following season, scoring nine goals and bagging four assists.
Vardy would be a good signing for West Ham, but he has plenty of clubs looking to secure his services for the new season.
They are already set to sign Tottenham Hotspur attacker Manor Solomon. He is undergoing his medical today ahead of joining the Hammers.
