Bristol Rovers suffered a ninth league defeat in a row with their 4-0 loss to Barnet
Darrell Clarke has slammed his Bristol Rovers players following the team’s 4-0 loss away to Barnet on Tuesday night.
The Gas are sitting just above the League Two relegation zone as their disastrous start to the campaign continued midweek at The Hive Stadium.
Goals from Adam Senior, Nnamdi Ofoborh, Mark Shelton and Callum Stead sealed all three points, consigning the visitors to a ninth league defeat in a row.
Supporters are growing frustrated with Clarke, who has been with the club since their relegation from League One was confirmed at the end of last season.
He has so far overseen eight wins from 26 fixtures, with the club at risk of losing their EFL status this term unless their form improves.

Clarke has claimed there is a lack of leadership within the Bristol Rovers dressing room following the 4-0 loss to Barnet, criticising his squad while apologising to supporters.
He’s described the performance as diabolical, suggesting that there were no positives he could take from their latest defeat.
“Diabolical performance, can only apologise yet again to our supporters to come in their numbers to watch that,” said Clarke, via Bristol Rovers’ X account.
“Can only apologise, diabolical, I’ve got nothing positive to say.
“Didn’t look any men, no leaders out there, no nothing, it was diabolical.”
Given the recent run of results, fans are seeking a change in the dugout, claiming that everything he has tried hasn’t worked this season.
While others have claimed that it can’t get worse than the record nine defeats in a row that Bristol Rovers have suffered, so someone else should be brought in to assess the squad before any potential January business.
However, not everyone is behind the idea of sacking Clarke despite the poor form, with some believing that the squad isn’t good enough to compete, particularly due to injury issues.
Next up for Bristol Rovers is a home clash against Swindon Town on 13 December in a 12.30pm kick-off.

January can’t come soon enough for Bristol Rovers, who are at risk of already being in the relegation zone by the time the transfer market opens.
It’s clear that this squad needs a lot of work, as nine defeats in a row is not just about who the manager is.
No squad should be capable of losing so many games just because of the manager, so a change in the dugout before the January window might not even make much of a difference.
