Luca Reggiani (18) played nine games across all competitions for Borussia Dortmund in 2025/26. The Italian’s path to the senior team was probably premature, capitalising on defensive injuries, but the youngster shone across 603 minutes.
However, Reggiani now faces competition from compatriot Filippo Mane, who is among the winners of Dortmund’s pre-season after returning from a hamstring injury in the Rückrunde.
“Filippo is making progress,” asserted BVB head coach Niko Kovač. “That’s down to his hard work. We’ve adjusted things: we know what problems he had.
“We’ve improved that over the past weeks and months.
“If he stays healthy, he’ll certainly be a good player for us.”
According to Ruhr Nachrichten, Mane has moved ahead of Reggiani in the pecking order. Per WAZ, Reggiani has two options: spend time with BVB II, in the 3. Liga, or leave on loan.
“We’ll assess the situation on a case-by-case basis as the transfer window nears its end,” said Lars Ricken.
