Teemu Pukki spent five years at Norwich City before departing in 2023

Teemu Pukki will go down as a modern Norwich City great for the performances and achievements he brought to the club.

The Finn arrived at Carrow Road in 2018, signing from Danish side Brondby, with Daniel Farke in charge of the first-team squad.

The Canaries had just finished 14th in the Championship table prior to the forward’s arrival, coming 15 points adrift of the play-off places.

But Pukki made an immediate impact, scoring 29 as Norwich earned promotion to the Premier League.

The now 35-year-old scored 87 league goals during his time at Carrow Road, and here we look at where the forward is now following his 2023 departure from the Norfolk outfit…

Teemu Pukki’s Norwich departure

Pukki departed Norwich at the end of the 2022/23 campaign, with the team coming 13th in the Championship table.

The end of the forward’s contract meant he left Carrow Road as a free agent, which led to his move to the United States.

Pukki signed for Minnesota United midway through the 2023 season, where he went on to feature 14 times before the end of the term.

He hit the ground running, scoring 10 in his first half-campaign with his new club, helping the team finish 21st in the table in MLS.

However, the forward’s first full season with Minnesota didn’t go as well, with the 35-year-old struggling for consistent game time.

He started just 11 of his 21 appearances, as the team improved to a 10th-place finish, with Pukki scoring only four times.

The forward fell down the pecking order of the US-based club, which led to his return to European football at the end of the 2024 campaign.

Pukki returned to his native Finland, signing for HJK ahead of the 2025 season, where he has become a regular presence in the side.

The Finland international has started all 10 of their league games so far this term, scoring five goals and assisting three, with the team currently fourth in the table.

Teemu Pukki’s importance to Norwich

Pukki will be remembered fondly for his time at Norwich, in which he became the club’s fourth highest-ever goalscorer.

He was crucial to two promotions to the Premier League under Farke, scoring 29 and 26 in both title-winning seasons in the second tier.

While the Canaries were unable to cement their place in the Premier League during his time at Carrow Road, he still managed to score 22 goals in the division across two campaigns.

But his influence did wane in his final campaign with the Norfolk outfit, scoring only 10 goals in the Championship from 41 appearances, with the side falling to 13th.

However, he’s been able to extend his career beyond Norwich, enjoying two solid years in America before continuing to play in Finland.

At 35, there is nothing stopping him from continuing for another few years, particularly given the impact he’s had with HJK so far this season.
