Sunderland return to Molineux on Saturday, their last visit a 0-0 draw in 2017-18 when Wolves could not beat them.
Sunderland Echo notes where Chris Coleman's XI from 9 December 2017 ended up.
Robbin Ruiter started and made three late saves. He retired in April 2024, then won the Padeltoernooi Legends in January 2026 with Siem De Jong.
Adam Matthews is now with Shamrock Rovers, helping win a 22nd League of Ireland title in 2025. John O’Shea retired in 2019 and is Republic of Ireland assistant to Heimir Hallgrimsson after an interim stint.
Marc Wilson ended in Iceland and is now Head of Academy Performance at Bangor FC. Jiang Guangtai, formerly Tyias Browning, naturalised in 2019 and now plays for Shanghai Port, champions in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
Donald Love joined Accrington in July 2024, with eight assists in 86 games. Darron Gibson retired in 2021, then at 37 returned with ninth-tier Wythenshawe FC.
Lee Cattermole was sent off that day after two bookings inside a minute, later joined VVV-Venlo and retired in 2020. He has since taken coaching roles and is an outstanding amateur golfer.
George Honeyman is now at Blackpool. Lynden Gooch left for Stoke in 2023, then joined Huddersfield Town last summer.
Lewis Grabban scored 12 in 20 before switching his loan to Aston Villa, later signed for Nottingham Forest, moved to Al Ahli in 2022, returned to Forest in an academy role before leaving in 2025, and now works in coaching and football education at UCFB.
