Southampton moved on several players in the summer, via sales, frees and loans, with mixed returns since. According to Daily Echo, this is where they stand now.

Shea Charles joined Fulham for £25m plus £5m and has impressed, starting last three league games. Taylor Harwood-Bellis went to Aston Villa for £25m plus £5m, made his debut in a 3-1 Carabao Cup win, but is yet to play in the Premier League.

Gavin Bazunu left for Bolton, made 10 saves in a 1-0 win over Cardiff. Alex McCarthy signed for Leicester on a free and has started five of seven league matches.

Ross Stewart took a three-year deal at Swansea, his season hit by injury, with only a brief cameo against Sheffield United. Juan Larios left by mutual consent, then joined Eldense, his £6m 2022 fee equating to about £1m per first-team appearance.

Jay Robinson has three starts from five for Monza, scored against Parma and came on at Inter under Ivan Juric. Cameron Archer has three goals in three for Auxerre.

Ben Brereton Diaz chose Sheffield United, is yet to score and has five starts. Moses Sesay hit a brace for Colchester against Shrewsbury, moving to three goals and one assist.

Elsewhere, Oriol Romeu joined Avispa Fukuoka in Japan, Charlie Taylor has started every game for Derby, and Will Smallbone and Joe Aribo remain free agents.
