Ghislain Konan has joined Wolves to bolster the left flank, the 57-cap Ivory Coast international bringing experience from France, Saudi Arabia, Spain and Portugal.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, he is Wolves’ second late summer-window arrival following David Moller Wolfe’s departure, and he links up with new head coach Cesar Peixoto.

Konan began at ASEC Mimosas before moving to Portugal with Vitoria Guimares, where he made 57 appearances. He switched to Reims in 2018, spending four seasons and playing 99 times, including 95 in Ligue 1.

He moved to Al-Nassr in 2022 and spent part of 2023/24 on loan at Al-Fayha. A return to Europe followed, joining Spanish second-tier side Burgos in January 2025 for the rest of the season.

Konan joined Gil Vicente ahead of 2025/26 and made 31 appearances, working under Peixoto, now Wolves head coach.

He debuted for Ivory Coast in a World Cup qualifier against Mali in October 2017, featured at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, then helped win the 2023 edition on home soil.

He was also in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations squad and played three times at this summer’s World Cup in North America, where Ivory Coast reached the knockouts before losing to Norway in the round of 32.

After leaving Gil Vicente, Konan had been training alone following his World Cup return. The 30-year-old has now signed a one-year deal at Wolves, providing competition for Hugo Bueno at left-back.
